About PPGETI

The Graduate Program in Teleinformatics Engineering at the Federal University of Ceará (PPGETI/UFC) is located in Building 725 on the Pici Campus, in Fortaleza, Ceará, Brazil. The Program offers Academic Master’s and Doctoral degrees in the concentration areas of Signals and Systems and Applied Electromagnetism.

As of December 2024, the faculty comprises 31 professors (26 permanent and 5 collaborating members), of whom 20 hold CNPq productivity scholarships16 in the PQ category and 4 in the DT category—making PPGETI the program with the largest number of CNPq fellows within the UFC Center of Technology.

PPGETI has a modern physical infrastructure and specialized laboratories linked to centers of excellence, such as GTEL (Wireless Telecommunications Research Group), LESC (Laboratory of Computer Systems Engineering), and CENTAURO (Center of Excellence in Automation and Robotics), among others. The Program also hosts an EMBRAPII Unit focused on high-complexity embedded systems and actively participates in national research centers such as CEREIA (Center of Reference in Artificial Intelligence), with an emphasis on healthcare applications.

The Program plays a leading role in strategic research projects, including CAPES/PrInt, aimed at expanding internet access in rural areas, and maintains a strong partnership with Ericsson, which has resulted in more than BRL 40 million in investments, over 50 patents, and hundreds of scientific publications. Its intellectual output is highly qualified: 75% of the articles published between 2021 and 2024 fall within the A1 to A4 strata, with an average of 2.91 articles per faculty member per year.

Graduate training at PPGETI is aligned with academic excellence and international engagement. The Program requires qualified publications for thesis and dissertation defenses, promotes research internships abroad, and maintains active collaborations with institutions in Germany, Sweden, France, and the United States. Its alumni hold prominent positions in universities, research institutes, and high-technology companies in Brazil and abroad.

Grounded in pillars such as technological innovation, social impact, and internationalization, PPGETI/UFC has established itself as a national reference in the Engineering IV area, contributing directly to scientific advancement and regional development.
